Goodman is a value brand, and its engineering choice is deliberate simplicity: straightforward single- and two-stage equipment without a lot of proprietary electronics. For repair, that's a genuine advantage. Goodman is part of the Daikin family and shares its parts and platform with Amana, and those components are widely stocked and inexpensive - a Goodman capacitor, contactor, fan motor, or board is about the easiest and cheapest part to get in the trade. There's little that's proprietary to trip over, so most Goodman repairs are diagnosed and finished in one visit.

Orlando's climate is where Goodman's value equation gets interesting. Running a budget system nearly year-round means the wear parts - capacitors especially - fatigue faster than they would in a milder climate, so you may see those small failures a bit sooner. The upside is that they're the cheapest parts to replace, so a Goodman stays affordable to keep alive.
